As a rule, Intercity Berlin can be booked from 92 days before departure.
For Intercity Berlin it is not mandatory to reserve a seat, although we do advise you to do so. You will receive your seat reservation showing your carriage number and seat number. For all 1st class tickets, a seat reservation is already included in the ticket price.

You will no longer have to wait for the post or go to a counter to purchase your tickets. Additionally, you won't pay any booking fees!

Intercity Berlin offers great comfort in both classes, including air conditioning. Would you like more luxury? Then you can choose to travel in 1st class.
Intercity Berlin's 1st class offers:

- In a few Intercity trains there is catering at your seat.

A first class ticket gives access to the NS International Lounges. The lounges at the stations have comfortable working spaces. You have access to wireless Internet, modern meeting rooms (for a fee) and there is a self-service bar with free drinks.
First class passenger may also wait, and receive a free non-alcholic beverage, in the DB lounges at the stations in Hannover and Berlin (Hauptbahnhof). You can also watch TV here or read from a selection of newspapers and magazines.

How do I find my carriage on the platform?
When travelling with a long-distance train, you will find large displays on the platforms which indicate with A to E where the individual carriages are located. The platforms are also divided from A to E.
Travel information on board of InterCity Berlin
Leaflets are distributed on board the Intercity Berlin: 'Ihr Reiseplan'. In these leaflets, you can read which stops Intercity Berlin will make, departure and arrival times for each station, but also information about connecting trains and the services offered on board. In addition, it is important to listen to the broadcast messages. Just before arriving at the next station, they will announce which connecting trains are available.
Taking a bicycle
It is permitted to take a bicycle on board Intercity Berlin. Therefore you do need an international bicycle ticket for about € 12 one-way. It is also mandatory to make a reservation for your bicycle which costs € 4 per one-way trip.
