The advantages of travelling by train

Taking the train to ski destinations has lots of advantages. You do not put on snow chains, deal with traffic or purchase mandatory mountain passes and winter tires. Great, right? Besides, you can take your ski equipement on board the train.

Ski destinations in France

The French ski slopes are directly attainable from the Netherlands with Thalys. Every Saturday from 24 December 2016 till 1 April 2017, a high-speed train leaves early in the morning from Amsterdam Central Station via Schiphol and Rotterdam Central Station to the French Alps.

In the winter months Thalys will bring you directly to Chambéry, Albertville, Moûtiers, Aime-la-Plagne, Landry and Bourg-St-Maurice. From these stations there are bus transfers from SnowBuzz to several villiages.

Take ICE International to Dortmund (changing trains in Oberhausen) where you take the train to Winterberg. Travel time is 5h23m. ICE departs from Amsterdam, Schiphol and Rotterdam 10 times a day.
