Book tickets for Eurostar

Book train tickets for travel to London as of 30 April to 17 May 2020

This spring the direct Eurostar will run:

  • as of 30 April from Amsterdam to London
  • as of 18 May from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to London

There already is a direct Eurostar from London to the Netherlands. Ticket sales for the direct Eurostar from Amsterdam to London will start on 11 February. You can then book tickets for travel dates up to 5 September 2020.

In this period, the direct Eurostar departs from Amsterdam. It is not yet possible to depart from Rotterdam, because the check-in facilities at this station are not yet ready. There are several options to book your trip. We have listed a number of examples. The different travel options have different fares depending on when you book and travel and whether you have a discount card. You can make your choice depending on the total travel duration, the number of transfers or the price.

Affordable travel with the introductory ticket

For the period from 30 April to 18 May, you can take advantage of the 'introductory ticket'. This will allow you to travel at an affordable price to London from any station in the Netherlands via Amsterdam (Eurostar's departure station). You will travel to Amsterdam Central Station for a fixed rate of € 9. Plus the price of the Amsterdam-London ticket (from € 40). Please note: select Den Helder as your departure station for the introductory ticket. The ticket will say: GELDIG VAN/NAAR ELK STATION IN NL (ie valid to/from any station in the Netherlands).

So: buy a Den Helder - London ticket and travel from any station in the Netherlands from € 49 to London

Make sure you plan a minimum of 45 minutes for changing trains to catch the Eurostar. You will need to arrive at the Eurostar Departures Terminal more than half an hour before departure to check in. The Eurostar Departures Terminal on track 15b closes 30 minutes before departure, so be in Amsterdam on time.

If your departure station is closer to Amsterdam or if you have a discount card, it may be cheaper to buy a separate ticket from your station to Amsterdam Central Station in combination with an Amsterdam - London ticket.

To London from Amsterdam and Noord-Holland region

Just book your trip from any nearby station. Make sure you plan at least 45 minutes to change trains to catch the Eurostar. You will need to be at the Eurostar Departures Terminal at Amsterdam Central Station to check in at least half an hour before the departure of Eurostar.

To London from Rotterdam and Zuid-Holland region

These are the options:

  • You can book the direct Eurostar from € 49 by selecting Den Helder - London in the booking system. With your international ticket you can open the gate in Rotterdam or at a nearby station and travel to Amsterdam. Make sure you plan at least 45 minutes to change trains to catch the Eurostar. You will need to be at the Eurostar Departures Terminal at Amsterdam Central Station to check in at least half an hour before the departure of Eurostar.
  • You can book from Rotterdam Central Station to London and travel with Thalys or Intercity Brussels to Brussels Zuid/Midi. There, you can check in for the journey to London with Eurostar.

    To London from Utrecht region

    These are the options:

    • You can book the direct Eurostar from € 49 by selecting Den Helder - London in the booking system. With your international ticket you can open the gate in Utrecht or at any nearby station and travel to Amsterdam. Make sure you plan at least 45 minutes to change trains to catch the Eurostar. You will need to be at the Eurostar Departures Terminal at Amsterdam Central Station to check in at least half an hour before the departure of Eurostar.
    • Buy a ticket from Amsterdam to London. You can travel from Utrecht to Amsterdam with your OV-chipkaart, with a ticket purchased at NS.nl or with a ticket from a ticket machine. You check out in Amsterdam with your domestic ticket and check in with your international ticket. Make sure you plan at least 45 minutes to change trains to catch the Eurostar. You will need to be at the Eurostar Departures Terminal at Amsterdam Central Station to check in at least half an hour before the departure of Eurostar.
    • You can book from Utrecht Central Station to London. Travel with an intercity train to Rotterdam and then catch a Thalys or Intercity Brussels train to Brussels Zuid/Midi. There, you can check in for the trip to London with Eurostar.

      To London from Zwolle region and the north of the Netherlands

      These are the options:

      • You can book the direct Eurostar from € 49 by selecting Den Helder - London in the booking system. With your international ticket you can open the gate in Zwolle or at any nearby station and travel to Amsterdam. Make sure you plan at least 45 minutes to change trains to catch the Eurostar. You will need to be at the Eurostar Departures Terminal at Amsterdam Central Station to check in at least half an hour before the departure of Eurostar.
      • You can book from Zwolle to London and travel with an intercity train to Rotterdam, where you can catch an Thalys or Intercity Brussels train to Brussel Zuid/Midi. There, you can check in for the trip to London with Eurostar.

      To London from Eindhoven region

      These are the options:

      • You can book the direct Eurostar from € 49 by selecting Den Helder - London in the booking system. With your international ticket you can open the gate in Eindhoven or at any nearby station and travel to Amsterdam. Make sure you plan at least 45 minutes to change trains to catch the Eurostar. You will need to be at the Eurostar Departures Terminal at Amsterdam Central Station to check in at least half an hour before the departure of Eurostar.
      • You can book from Eindhoven to London and travel with an intercity train to Rotterdam or Breda and then catch a Thalys or Intercity Brussels train to Brussels Zuid/Midi. There, you can check in for the trip to London with Eurostar.

      Travel to London after 18 May 2020

      From 18 May, Eurostar will run directly from Amsterdam and Rotterdam. From Amsterdam and Rotterdam the starting price is € 40 (one-way). If you depart from other stations in the Netherlands, you pay a maximum of € 9 for your journey to Amsterdam or Rotterdam. The starting price for a return trip would be € 98 return.
