Regulations

Do you want to take your bicycle with you on an international train within Europe? And what kind of bike is it: a regular bicycle, a mountain bike, a track bike, a recumbent bicycle or a tandem? It's possible to take your bike on those trains that have special bike area's.

Buying or reserving a bicycle ticket

It is not yet possible to book your trip online when travelling with a bicycle. To book your trip with bicycle ticket, you can contact NS International Service Center, the NS International counter at one of the Tickets & Service offices at the larger train stations or your travel agency.

Taking your bicycle on board Thalys

On board Thalys, a bicycle is only allowed if its front wheel has been removed and if the bicycle is packed in a special bicycle slipcover (maximum dimensions: 120x90 cm). The bicycle is then considered a luggage item. A folding bike is permitted as long as it is folded and packed.
