Taking your bicycle on board ICE International
Unfortunately NS and DB have different rules for transporting bicycles and folding bikes.
- ICE passengers with an NS domestic ticket may take an unpacked folding bicycle with them.
- ICE passengers with an internationaal ticket may take a packed folding bicycle with them (unpacked folding bicycles are not permitted).
- ICE passengers are not permitted to take regular bicycles with them, not even when they are dismantled and packed unless they completely fit and are placed in a suitcase that is no larger than 85cm.
ICE on the domestic German route
Folding bicycles and regular bicycles are only permitted in ICE as luggage provided that they are dismantled and packed in a special bicycle slipcover (maximum dimensions: 120x90 cm).
